One of the first practical tips I recommend to my clients to incorporate obedience training throughout their day is training their dog to “wait” before going out the front door. Not only is it a great way to calm down your dog who’s pulling to barge through the door but also to set the right tone for your walk by having your dog focus on YOU as soon as he gets outside instead of getting zoned in on all of the distracting sounds and sights of the outside world.
